Readable was built out of frustration with slow reading. The average person reads at around 200–250 words per minute — not because their brain can't process faster, but because their eyes can't.
Traditional reading requires constant back-and-forth eye movement (saccades). RSVP — Rapid Serial Visual Presentation — eliminates that by showing one word at a time at a fixed point. Your eyes stay still. Words come to you.
The result: most readers can comfortably reach 400–600 WPM within a few sessions, without sacrificing comprehension.
We built Readable to be simple and distraction-free. Upload a document, press play, and read. We added AI features for people who want to work with long-form content more efficiently: chapter parsing to navigate books, and summarization for quick reference.
